We are working on bringing you a feature rich private WoW server dedicated to our players. Tanjiers has been around for a long time, but only recently have we had the ability to revamp and grow it. Saurfang is the culmination of a lot of our efforts, and when it's "finished" will be a spectacular server. Some features of note include:

  • Cross realm character transfer!
  • Multiple realms with differing bonuses tailored to the different categories of player. Even an all GM "sandbox" for anyone wanting to experiment with their character armor/stats.
  • Website based character shop, purchase consumables, craft items, rares, epics, or hero items, as well as craft levels, pets, and character levels, using your in game gold! Want that uber chest piece but nobody doing the raid on it? Now you can buy it directly using your in game gold.
  • Web based stats viewer for all characters, including inventory (yours only), skills, spells and factions.
  • Up to the minute signature images with your choice of background, size, and stats.

Connect

Connection to Saurfang is relatively easy, once you've been down the path before. Your method may differ, but the pertinent method is as follows:

  1. Create an account on this website. The Username you choose will be your Login inside of World of Warcraft. It is recommended that your username be all one word.
  2. Log into your account on the the website. Under My Account, find the Servers tab. Under World of Warcraft, enter a password, and click Create. Your Username is your tanjiers username, and your pass is the password you just typed in.
  3. Try to patch your game to 2.4.3 (8606). Our server supports Only this version. Manual patches make this process much easier. We have an install walkthrough here.
  4. Edit (or use an editor for, or use our walkthrough here) realmlist.wtf in your World of Warcraft folder, changing the contents to this.
    • set realmlist saurfang.servers.tanjiers.org
    • set patchlist 127.0.0.1
  5. From this step forward, everything relies on the process to have worked properly. Now you should be able to login to your World of Warcraft client with your website Username and Password. Choose your realm, and create your character(s). Some additional notes to keep in mind

Any deviation of these guidelines will tend to cause the process to fail.

If you get a connection error, firstly check servers.tanjiers.org, the server may be down or restarting. If it's down, without a notice, it's probably restarting and will be back up momentarily. We have a very high uptime on our servers, but things happen, and we will keep any downtime as short as possible.
